The mask must be cleaned and then defogged before you enter the water to make the experience exciting and comfortable. When you have the mask sealed well, and you are ready to go, bend at the knees, stretch out your arms and lean forward until you are floating. The kicks that you make must move together rhythmically and a low pace to help you enjoy the moment.
